INTRODUCCIÓN: Esta problema que se nos presenta en la actualidad es un tema que cada día ocupa más la atención de científicos, técnicos, políticos y en general, de muchos de los habitantes del planeta.
La escasez de este vital liquido obliga a reiterar nuevamente una llamada a la moderación de consumo por parte de la poblacióna nivel mundial, ya que sin su colaboración los esfuerzos técnicos que llevan a cabo algunas organizaciones resultarían insuficientes.

DESARROLLO: El agua es indispensable para cualquier actividad: la industrial, la agrícola y la urbana ya que promueve su desarrollo económico y social.
Con el propósito de alcanzar un manejo sustentable del recurso futuro, es necesario que todos los ciudadanos conozcamos la situación real del agua y participemos con las instituciones gubernamentales en la toma de decisiones para el manejo responsable del agua.
Se necesita la participación de los miembros de la sociedad para que desde cada una de sus actividades: en el hogar, en el trabajo, en la escuela, en la comunidad, en las áreas de recreación, consideren el valor del agua haciendo uso eficiente del recurso y cuidando de no regresarla tan contaminada para preservar la calidad de las reservas naturales del agua.
